the lecture last night was great. patton oswalt was late but very funny ("there was a hipster spill, flannel all over rowena ave.; i've never seen so many paramedics rolling their eyes." cheap joke but low key i laughed) and paul levitz, jim lee, and geoff johns were fucking awesome, very insightful and knowledgeable (obv). i learned a lot. of course, the nerds were out in full effect. one mustachioed guy hogged the mic for about ten minutes hassling the panel about collecting - "DO ANY OF YOU OWN THE FIRST SUPERMAN?!" there was also an old guy with the most amazing coogi sweater. all i could think was, "he probably doesn't even understand." understand what, i don't really know, but i'm sure he didn't.
(by the way, i kept the soundtracks to tony hawk's pro-skater 1 and 2) (never forget)
